Vincent Laforet was provided a fully functionaly protype of the Canon 5D Mark II and spent a small bucket of his own money in the production of this video. It successfully highlights the video capabilities of the 5D Mark II…specifically in low light situations.

Canon USA has officially stopped the rumor mill – ending months of speculation – by releasing the specifications for the new 5D Mark II. The most comprehensive review of features can be found at Dpreview. Sample HD video capture from the unit can be found at PDN Pulse. According to Canon the camera (body only) will retail for $2699.00 and go on sale in October.

Digital Projection Signage Deputs at MOA

Stillwater, MN based Modernistic Inc has developed some pretty cool Digital Projection Signage that Best Buy deputs at the Mall of America. I have not witnessed this in person yet but it looks pretty cool in the assorted clips I’ve been able to dig up. It looks like the days of the “still” cardboard cut out are numbered.

It brought me great to joy to learn that Brenda Ann Kenneally was the recipient of the 2008 Canon Female Photojournalist Award. I had the privelge of collaborating with Brenda during my tenure as Creative Services Buyer at Target. I encourage all those unfamiliar with Brenda’s amazing work to check it out.
