			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>At the age of eighteen, <a title="Rachel Papo Home Page" href="http://www.rachelpapo.com/">Rachel Papo</a> was serving in the Israel Air Force as a photographer. This tour of duty was the inspiration for her current project titled after her own serial number during service: <a title="Serial No. 3817131 Home Page" href="http://www.serialno3817131.com/index.html">Serial No. 3817131</a>.</p>
<p>Born in Ohio, but raised in Israel, the photo bug caught Rachel while she was in her teens. She attended the renowned fine-arts high school in Haifa, Israel, earned a BFA in Fine Arts from Ohio State University and an MFA in Photography from the School of Visual Arts in New York City. The photographs of Israeli female soldiers started in 2004 as part of her masters thesis project. A book of this beautiful work has been published by <a title="powerHouse Books" href="http://www.powerhousebooks.com/book/392">powerHouse Books</a>.</p>
